Theodor Szántó was an Austrian‐born Hungarian pianist and composer (Tivadar Szántó, Vienna, 1877 – Budapest, 1934). He studied with Busoni in Berlin from 1898 to 1901 and afterwords made a career as a pianist. As a composer, Szántó was very interested in the music of Japan and incorporated his exploration of it into his own music.
