Erwin Schulhoff (Czech Ervín Schulhoff) (8 June 1894 – 18 August 1942) was a Czech composer and pianist. He was one of the brightest figures in the generation of European musicians whose successful careers were prematurely terminated by the rise of the Nazi regime in Germany and whose works have been rarely noted or performed.

A generous selection of pieces by this interesting and neglected composer. Schulhoff was active as a jazz pianist in berlin in the 20s and actually recorded some of the pieces included here. Technically not too demanding, well within reach of an intermediate pianist wish a strong sense of rhythm.
